Spartan Race Tenerife 2026

The obstacle course that transforms the island into an epic challenge

The Spartan Race Tenerife 2026 returns to the island on 28 and 29 November, offering an event that combines sport, adventure and personal challenge in a unique natural setting. This race, one of the most renowned on the international circuit, brings together athletes, enthusiasts and outdoor lovers every year who are looking to test their physical and mental endurance. Tenerife, with its mild climate and volcanic landscape, is the perfect setting for a competition that demands determination, technique and a good dose of fighting spirit.

An experience designed to challenge body and mind

The Spartan Race Tenerife is characterised by its demanding courses, where running is combined with obstacles that test strength, agility and endurance. In Tenerife, the volcanic terrain, uneven ground and sections of dirt add an extra element of difficulty that makes the event a memorable challenge.

Common obstacles include:

  • Walls of varying heights
  • Weight carries
  • Drags and pushes
  • Rope climbs
  • Mud crossings
  • Balance tests
  • Javelin throws

Each obstacle must be overcome to move forward. Otherwise, the participant must complete a physical penalty, usually 30 burpees, one of the hallmarks of the Spartan Race.

The race is designed so that everyone can challenge their own limits. It doesn’t matter whether you’re competing for time, for a ranking or simply to enjoy the experience: the Spartan spirit is based on personal achievement and camaraderie.

The four official categories of Spartan Race Tenerife 2026

The Tenerife edition includes the circuit’s most iconic events, each with a different level of difficulty:

  • Spartan Sprint 5K: The gateway to the Spartan world. A 5 km course with 20 obstacles, perfect for those wanting to experience it for the first time or for those looking for a fast, intense and explosive race.
  • Spartan Super 10K: An intermediate challenge combining endurance and technique. With 10 km and 25 obstacles, the Super demands more comprehensive preparation and good pacing.
  • Spartan Beast 21K: The highlight of the weekend. A 21 km course with 30 obstacles, designed for those seeking an extreme challenge. The Beast is a physical and mental experience that marks a turning point for any runner.
  • Spartan Kids 1–3K: A category designed for the little ones, with age-appropriate circuits and safe obstacles. A fun way to introduce children to Spartan values: effort, overcoming challenges and active play.

All categories feature Open, Age Group and Elite divisions, allowing each participant to compete at the level that best suits their experience.
